Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that starting counselling can feel like a big step.
Here are some answers to common questions, tailored for each age group we support.

Children (Ages 6–12)

  • Anything that is bothering them. This could be worries, friendship changes, school stress, family changes, or feelings they do not yet understand. We use creative tools so children feel safe and heard.

  • We blend talking with play, drawing, mood cards, and interactive activities. Many children express themselves best through creativity and gentle structure.

  • Yes. We offer regular check-ins with parents or carers and share themes and progress while respecting your child’s privacy. Your support plays a big part in their emotional growth.

  • That is completely normal. We build trust slowly and use games, visuals, and gentle prompts to help them feel comfortable. There is never any pressure to talk before they are ready.

Adolescents (Ages 13–18)

  • Yes. Most teens prefer one-to-one sessions. We maintain confidentiality while keeping you informed about progress and any safeguarding concerns.

  • We support teens with anxiety, low mood, identity questions, peer pressure, family dynamics, exam stress, and more.

Sessions offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore what is on their mind.

  • We can arrange a gentle introduction. This might be a short call, a creative resource, or a first session designed to explore what counselling involves and how it can help.

  • Teens join via secure video call in a quiet, private space. Sessions are conversational and creative, often using tools such as journaling, visuals, or mood check-ins

Young Adults (Ages 19–25)

  • Absolutely. We support young adults through transitions such as university, work, relationships, identity, and emotional wellbeing. Our approach is warm and non-clinical.

  • No referral is needed. You can self-refer at any time. We welcome you exactly as you are, whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply want space to reflect.

  • Our approach is emotionally attuned and developmentally aware. We combine structure with creativity and offer tools that support emotional literacy and self-understanding.

  • Yes. We co-create the process with you. You can choose open conversation, goal-setting, creative prompts, or a mix. Your voice shapes the journey.
